Needless to say, my journey has been phenomenal in its own way.

I’ve chosen paths no one approved of,
Failed miserably, yet learned through it all.
I’ve succumbed to the care and affection of some
Who were neither my blood nor my love.

I’ve twisted my life to fit the lifestyle I desired,
Only to realise, I couldn’t afford it.
I’ve dealt with misery, head held high,
So no one would see the cracks beneath.

I’ve lost many times, but never held back, not with friends, not even with foes
I am more a friend than a mother to my seven-year-old,
Who still longs for a mother’s warmth.

To some, I’m a failure.
To others, a champion of whims, 
Though those whims often end in doubt.

Precarious, yes, that’s what life has been.
But I won’t complain…
Because ‘unpredictable’ is my second name.
